Washed In Washed Out Washed Away - story of the Coastguards along the Lincolnshire Coast
Washed In, Washed Out, Washed Away written by Peter and Gemma Leak
After the discovery of several old Coastguard records, Peter Leak decided to write a book about many incidents along the Lincolnshire Coast.
Peter Leak recalls memories of his time as an Auxiliary-in-Charge/Station Officer and local Auxiliary Coastguard Officer. In the book, Washed In, Washed Out, Washed Away, there are 83 photographs.
Washed In, Washed Out, Washed Away is a brief history of the seven Coastguard Stations that once operated on the East Coast of Lincolnshire from Salfleet Haven in the North to Anderby Creek in the South.
Washed In, Washed Out, Washed Away has an account as to what happened on the beach, in the sea and on the coastline during 1975 - 2001.
In the words of foreword: 'The story is told is a perfect picture of hands on Coastguarding - Warts and all.'
